How are colours graded with colourless diamonds?

With colourless diamonds, the colour is divided into 6 categories. From worst to best: tinted colour – tinted white – light tinted white – white – fine white – finest white. This is referred to as M to P-Z with a tinted colour, K and L tinted white, I and J light tinted white, H with white, F and G fine white, D and E finest white. This is an important factor when you are thinking of buying diamonds.
