Why are some diamonds yellow?

Yellow diamonds are a variety of colored diamonds. The yellow colour of a fancy yellow diamond is caused by small amounts of nitrogen which are located in the crystal structure of the diamond. The higher the amount of nitrogen, the more yellow the diamond will be.
