Facet

During the process of cutting, the diamond cutters use a scaif. On the scaif, the professional cutters sprinkle diamond dust which cuts the small diamond facets on the surface of the diamond. Facets are thus the flat surfaces made by the polisher on the diamond. These flat surfaces provide an optimal refraction and exquisite reflection of light. A brilliant, for example, has 57 facets, creating a unique brilliance. So if there are a lot of facets on a diamond, the reflected light will be extraordinary.
