Is a diamond breakable?

In the whole world, there is no harder stone sort to be found than the diamond. But that in no way means that it is indestructible. Corrosive substances can damage the stone and other diamonds can cause scratches. If it is hit with a hard object in a certain way, even a diamond is breakable and it disintegrates.
