What is a blood diamond?

Blood diamonds are sometimes also referred to as conflict diamonds. They are mined by men, women and children, who have to work under inhumane conditions. Any profit made will usually go straight to guerrilla movements. The Kimberley process has resulted in it now being virtually impossible to buy this type of diamond.
