How is a diamond cut?

Diamond dealers will predominantly buy rough diamonds, which are subsequently cut into finished diamonds. The rough diamond’s crystal structure and shape will determine the shape it is cut into, thereby guaranteeing the least loss. People used to cut diamonds with the use of other diamonds, but now this is mostly done with man-made materials.
