Where do diamonds come from?

Diamonds are formed by carbon under enormous pressure at high temperatures. In nature these conditions will only ever occur a minimum of 150 kilometers below the earth’s crust. Magma pushes the diamonds back up to the surface, where they are mined and cut. Approximately 80% of all rough diamonds pass through Antwerp.
