The craftsmanship of the experts

Every BAUNAT engagement ring follows a clear, traceable production path so you always know how your piece is made and who is responsible for each step.

1) Diamond selection and certification check

Each diamond is verified against its certificate for the 4 Cs, with particular attention to cut, colour and clarity. Our buyers confirm provenance and matching documentation before any stone is approved for use. This verification is carried out by experienced gemmology specialists to guarantee that the diamond you choose matches the published specifications.

2) Casting and fabrication method

We cast and fabricate the ring using high-quality metals, with a focus on 18Kt and higher alloys for long-term durability and finish. Skilled goldsmiths control metal composition and dimensions throughout casting and hand-finishing, maintaining consistent weight and comfort for daily wear.

3) Setting and finishing

Stone setting is performed by master setters who apply the technique best suited to the design, such as prong, bezel or pavé settings. We offer multiple setting styles, but do not use tension settings. Final polishing and surface treatments are applied to achieve the intended lustre while protecting the stone and metal.

4) Quality control and certification handover

Every finished ring undergoes a multi-point quality inspection: fit and symmetry checks, secure stone mounting tests and visual grading against the approved CAD and diamond certificate. After approval, all relevant paperwork, including the diamond certificate and a workmanship guarantee, is packaged with the ring.

5) Packaging and insured delivery

The ring is presented in signature packaging designed to protect it in transit and on receipt. All shipments are insured and tracked, and delivery options include secure handover or collection from a BAUNAT location. Each order includes clear care instructions so the piece can be enjoyed for generations.

This step-by-step workflow combines craftsmanship, transparency and safeguards, giving you confidence from selection through to delivery.

Certified diamonds

BAUNAT only uses certified diamonds

Most engagement rings contain one or more diamonds. If you want to buy an engagement ring with diamonds, you should pay attention to the 4 Cs when buying. The 4 Cs are quality features that should always be listed on the certificate of your diamond.

  • Carat

  • Colour

  • Clarity

  • Cut

The clarity and colour are the most important. So choose a diamond that scores at least VS2 or SI1 on the clarity scale and is ranked G or H on the colour scale. That indication determines the average price of your engagement ring.
The size of a diamond is expressed in carats. The number of carats in a diamond is much debated, but worldwide the average is between 1.00 and 1.09 carats. The higher the carat, the more expensive the engagement ring will be.

We make your engagement ring to order

How the ordering process works

If you prefer a bespoke design, the journey starts with a personal consultation where we discuss style, budget and stone preferences. Our designers translate your brief into a CAD visualisation that reflects proportions, setting type and metal choice. You will receive the CAD for review and may request revisions; once you sign off on the design we move into production. Throughout the process you remain in contact with a dedicated specialist who coordinates design updates and confirms each milestone.

What you’ll receive

When your ring is complete you receive the finished piece together with the diamond certificate, the workmanship guarantee and clear care instructions. At delivery or collection our team will show you the ring, confirm the fit and explain basic maintenance recommendations. For customised orders the final handover also includes confirmation of the approved CAD and a record of any personalised engraving or special requests.

What’s included when you order your engagement ring

Certified diamond paperwork: every diamond is supplied with its official certificate detailing cut, carat, colour and clarity, and this documentation is handed over with your ring.

Workmanship guarantee: your ring is covered by a workmanship guarantee that protects against manufacturing defects. The guarantee wording is provided with your purchase and explains the scope of coverage.

Resizing policy: resizing is available when needed to ensure a comfortable fit; our team will advise on options and arrange the necessary work as part of our service.

Customisation and engraving: choose from a range of engraving styles and custom details. During the design phase you receive a CAD visualisation and a number of revision rounds to refine the design until you are satisfied.

Revision rounds during design: we include defined revision opportunities during the CAD approval process so you can adjust proportions, setting style or finish before production begins.

Aftercare support: routine services such as inspection, polishing and cleaning advice are available to keep your ring in optimal condition; guidance and the next steps are provided when you receive your ring.

18Kt and higher metals: BAUNAT uses 18Kt and higher quality metals for engagement rings, selected for their durability and finish.

These items are standard with each bespoke or ready-to-order engagement ring and provide transparent protections and practical options so you can order with confidence.

The aftercare is also in good hands

At BAUNAT, our expertise does not end the moment you put the ring on your finger. Right away, we give you a lot of maintenance tips, for example about how to clean the ring correctly without damaging your diamonds. If something does go wrong and your ring is damaged, we will do the necessary repairs.

BAUNAT, your reliable online jeweler

Until recently, everyone went to a physical jeweller to purchase an engagement ring. The advantage of a showroom is that you can hold the rings and get an idea of the size and weight of the ring and the diamond. However, the online sale of quality jewellery has since changed completely and buying an engagement ring online in Belgium is often a lot cheaper. Sometimes you save up to 30 to 50 percent compared to an offline purchase.
