The solitaire ring is a ring with a single central gemstone. Other jewellery can sometimes also be referred to with the term ‘solitaire’ when they feature one single diamond or other gemstone. The solitaire ring is the most traditional and definitely the most popular type.
The prong setting is most commonly used with the solitaire diamond ring. The prongs which hold the diamond in place are in an open position and let in the most light of all of the different settings. It can be used with most diamond shapes and is available in various different finishes.
A jewel with low diamond setting means that the diamond is set very close to the wearer. This type of diamond setting is very comfortable to wear and is great for people with an active lifestyle, or when you need to wear gloves for example.
