New in: Eternal Bloom Collection
Princess Delphine of Saxe-Coburg for BAUNAT
BAUNAT is proud to unveil the Eternal Bloom Collection, an exclusive collaboration with Her Royal Highness Princess Delphine of Saxe-Coburg, Princess of Belgium.
A halo setting has a central, main, large stone surrounded by smaller stones, creating the illusion that it looks bigger. The gemstone in the centre can be a diamond, but it also looks beautiful with another stone, such as a sapphire or ruby. The term ‘halo’ refers to how the light reflects off this beautiful setting, creating coloured or white rings around the sun or moon. It is a great option for staying on budget, as it less expensive than jewellery with a bigger stone.
Fine gold is the only metal in the world that is yellow in its pure form. Pure gold is too soft and sensitive to dents and scratches to be made into gold jewellery, so we always use an alloy of gold with other metals in the manufacture of jewellery, including silver, palladium or copper. Pure 24 carat gold is an ochre yellow colour. Depending on the proportion of metal added, the colour of the metal alloy will vary from yellow to pink or red. If the fine gold is alloyed with a certain amount of silver and copper, a yellow gold alloy is produced.
