Yellow Gold

This precious metal consists of pure gold mixed with alloys such as copper for a warmer tone and silver and palladium to a paler colour. Its colour is perfect for a classic feeling of luxury! 

Yellow gold comes in varying levels of purity, measured in karat (or kt). The most alloys for gold are 18kt (75% pure gold) and 24kt (99.9% pure gold). Other purity levels available include 9kt (37.5%), 14kt (58.3%) and 22kt (91.7%). 

While a higher karat count is purer, it also makes the precious metal less durable. That's why jewellers tend to use 18kt, 14kt, or 9kt for jewellery that should last long-term. Like a striking engagement ring or wedding ring. 

Emerald

Emeralds are specimens of the beryl mineral family, found in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks in a small number of locations worldwide.

The emerald symbolises power, immortality and eternal youth. In ancient times, people believed that the emerald had healing powers for skin problems. 

An emerald is typically a lot lighter and more transparent than sapphires or rubies. Its distinctive green colour is elegant and edgy at the same time and looks great with most precious metals.
