What is 'Polish' of a diamond?

Polish refers to the degree of smoothness of each facet of a diamond when graded by a gemologist. Polish is graded on a scale from Excellent to Poor. For diamonds with polish grade Excellent to Good, no polish defects will be visible to the naked eye.
