When thinking of Art Deco jewellery, most people see abstract forms, glamour and timeless elegance. The Art Deco style movement emerged in the 1920s and 30s when women no longer had the urge to embellish themselves with diamond tiaras and other statement jewellery, as they did in the Victorian era. Instead, they wore long necklaces, earrings and headbands to compensate for their ever-shorter dresses. It was a decadent time full of geometrically cut diamonds, both colourless and coloured.
