What are the most popular designs for engagement rings?
Golden engagement ring with side diamonds and 1-carat solitaire diamond
0.50-carat solitaire diamond ring in white gold with side diamonds
This ring retains the classic look but has so much more to offer, and it is easy to see why so many women are mesmerised by its design.
Also, cathedral setting adds extra sparkle around the main diamond to give it a distinctive look.
Rings with solitaire diamonds are also popular with women who like the idea of having the ring but do not necessarily want to get engaged.
You can always find a reason to buy a piece of jewellery and why not a solitaire ring too.

Limited budget? Opt for a smaller carat weight
One of our favourites from that selection is this high setting ring where the prongs gracefully lift the diamond high above the band to allow the maximum amount of light to pass through the diamond. The high setting shows off the gemstone and makes it appear more prominent and sparkly. So, having decided when to buy an engagement ring, this might be the right choice for you!
How to choose the right metal for your engagement ring?
The choice of metal depends on personal preference.
White gold and Platinum will make the diamonds sparkle more than yellow and red gold. However, if your future spouse has a more olive skin tone, the warmer yellow and red gold shades might complement them better.
What is the difference between white gold and platinum?
Pure gold is too flexible and unsuitable for making jewellery, so even yellow gold contains other metals.
Platinum jewellery is usually more expensive than white gold for several reasons. Although pure gold is more expensive than pure platinum, less gold is needed to make the same jewel. This is not only because of platinum’s high density but also because the alloy contains 95% pure platinum. White gold, however, only contains 75% pure gold.
What diamond cut is best for my engagement ring?
Round:
Round or brilliant cut diamonds with their 57 or 58 facets add intense scintillation, making these the most lustrous diamond shapes enhanced by the cut. This cut combines tradition and elegance and is the most popular for engagement rings.
Princess:
Elegant, simple and yet different! This is the second most popular choice when comes to engagement rings. The princess-cut was formed after years of research to determine what was missing from the market and what women really wanted. The unique cut was designed to really show off the diamond’s distinctive sparkle.
