What is meant by ‘colour’ when we talk about a colourless diamond?

Colour is an important factor when buying a diamond. Colourless diamonds can display a light yellowish tint. It’s not strong enough to qualify them as coloured diamonds. The rarest and most expensive diamonds are completely colourless. However, the colour often isn’t, or barely, noticeable, resulting in lightly coloured diamonds also being incredibly valuable.
