In today’s world where things are moving so quickly in terms of fashion, trends and designs, thanks to the internet and social media, it isn’t always easy to be up to speed or understand where we stand in the midst of all of these opportunities and choices we have.

Therefore, should you be looking at upgrading your diamond or diamondring into something more fashionable or maybe you have a larger budget than before, or simply because you have inherited jewellery that you do not particularly like; whichever the reason, there are quite a few options out there to satisfy your upgrading needs.

  • Trading in

Trading in your diamondring or even just the stone for an upgrade is a common option that can be offered by the jeweller on the day you purchase the ring or can be done at a later stage.

It is basically an exchange where you give back your stone or the whole diamondring to the jeweller and by adding an extra sum of money, you get a better and larger diamond back.

You do have to be careful when trading in though, make sure you have read the terms and conditions carefully and that you understand what the trading in entails for you.

  • Creating a new design or changing part of your old one

When deciding to create a new design or changing part of it, the one thing you need to be careful of is the emotional attachment you may have to the original ring, and therefore not choose too hastily to avoid any disappointments.

Creating your ring from scratch is an option, with a team of designers for example. At BAUNAT we have a fantastic tailor made design team that is there to help you through the whole process.

You could also decide to change jewellery type and transform an inherited diamondring into a pendant.

Furthermore, you could decide to change only one part of your ring, such as the head of the ring and add a halo to your center stone. That would considerably upgrade your diamond and your ring would look different but still familiar.

  • Adding an eternity ring

Should you wish to keep you ring as it is, because of the sentimental value and because you like it, you could upgrade the whole look by purchasing an eternity ring to go with it. The look of the two rings together on your finger would be quite different without modifying your original ring. You could purchase a half eternity or a full eternity ring and have the gold and shape of the diamonds match your existing diamondring easily.

  • Selling your diamond or the whole ring to buy new one

Of course, should none of these options suit you, you could just sell your piece of jewellery. You could have it certified first to make sure you have the full value for todays market and sell it either to a store or online.

BAUNAT has a talented team of advisors and designers who are there to help you with any questions you may have regarding an upgrade and to guide you through the whole process.
