What are the most popular designs for engagement rings?

There are many types of engagement rings available, and the choice depends on personal style and taste as well as budget and price of the ring.   Here are some of our favourite and most popular rings:
Ring with 1 carat diamond in white gold

Golden engagement ring with side diamonds , 1 carat solitaire diamond

Our first example is this round diamond  set beautifully between 4 square prongs which creates an optical illusion and the diamond appears visually bigger than the actual size of the gemstone.

Limited in budget? Opt for a smaller carat weight

If you are asking yourself how much you should spend for an engagement ring, the answer it’s impossible to define. Everyone has a different budget so even if your wallet is not permitting a large stone you can still surprise your loved one with a stunning ring.  Take a look at our collection of up to 0.50 carat rings that   combine elegance and style.

One of our favourite from that selection is this high setting ring where tThe prongs gracefully lift the diamond high above the band to allow maximum amount of light to pass through the diamond.  The high setting shows off the gemstone and it makes it appear more prominent and with better sparkle due to interaction with the light.

How to choose the right metal for your engagement ring?

Yellow or Red gold, White gold or Platinum which one to choose?

The choice of metal depends on personal choice.  White gold and Platinum will make the diamonds sparkle more if compared to Yellow and Red gold.  However, if your future spouse has more of a Mediterranean type skin the warmer tones of the yellow and red gold might compliment better her look.

What is the difference between white gold and platinum?

White gold is created by mixing yellow gold with other white metals, such as nickel or palladium, pure white gold doesn’t exist. To achieve 18 karats white gold, 75% pure gold is combined with and 25% other metals needed for the colour and strength.

Pure gold is too flexible and not suitable for making jewellery so even yellow gold contains other metals.

Platinum jewellery is usually more expensive than white gold and there are several reasons for this. Although pure gold is more expensive than pure platinum, less gold is needed to make the same jewel. Not only because of platinum’s high density, but also because the alloy contains 95% pure platinum whereas white gold only contains 75% pure gold.
