What are complementary colours?

We recommend checking thecolour wheel or colour circle. The colours opposite one another on this wheel are complementary, which means they complement each other. For example, you could buy a ring with a blue sapphire as the central stone and complement it with yellow diamondsset in a white gold or platinum ring band. Or you can pick yellow gold as your precious metal and set it with a dazzling blue sapphire.

Red is opposite green on the colour wheel. So, if you are going for complementary colours, you could also buy a ring with ruby and emerald. Beautiful!

How do you combine analogue colours?

Analogue colours are sets of three colours that can be found next to each other on the colour wheel. You can create analogue colour combinations by picking one colour and combining it with the colours to the left and right of that colour. Looking for a fantastic ring with analogue colours? Combine a green emerald with blue sapphire!

By the way, did you know that sapphire comes in many different colours other than its famous blue colour? You can alsochoose a ring with a non-blue sapphire. Do be sure to check out the colour wheel again to find your perfect colour match.

Why pick monochromatic colours?

Do you have a specific favourite colour? Then you can buy a ring with different versions of this one colour. Monochromatic colours are different shades of one certain colour. A set of blue gems? Or different shades of green?Go for customisation to shape your idea.
