Hip and happening travel blog Fathom has declared Antwerp to be one of the most stylish cities in the world. Fathom made a shortlist of the 10 hippest cities in the world for the American website Refinery29. On top of their list we were happy to find Antwerp, our own fashion city par excellence. For Fathom our Flemish city is symbol of leadership and progressiveness in fashion.

For overnight stays they recommend the luxurious boutique hotel “De Witte Lelie”, where you’ll be able to sleep as a baby due to the beautiful and dreamy interior. “Helder” is a bright design studio and interior design shop and therefore, undoubtedly their favorite store in the city. Hungry travelers are guided to “Hanger Eenveertig”. Since Jo Peeters’ (architect) facelift of the beautiful building near the Antwerp Scheldekaaien this breathtaking grand café should be on any visitor’s to-see-list. The “MAS”, short for “Museum Aan de Stroom” is described as a mesmerizing Jenga-style building on the water. Furthermore, nothing beats the view of “ ’t Zilte” at the tippy top of this building. Also an honorable mention for the Antwerp Fashion Museum, which pays homage to the active, international, and creative approach of local designers. Finally, a visit to Antwerp’s open air contemporary art gallery, “Middelheim Museum”, is referred to as a surrealist dream. Next to Antwerp, we found South Korean Seoul, Brooklyn, Mexico City, Amsterdam and Marfa (Texas) in the top 10. Of course Berlin, Copenhague, Sydney and Matera (Italy) could not be missed in this trendy list.
