When choosing a diamond, the first thing you have to do is pick a shape. Though there’s much more involved than just that. Before skimming different jewelers and before looking at online collections, you better check out first what your partner does or does not like. There is a tremendous amount of diamond engagement rings you can choose from and you will certainly find a ring you can propose with.

Which diamond shape?
Brilliant engagement rings are still at number 1. Classic and timeless rings remain popular. Of course there are many other diamond shapes. The princess cut’s sales are for example rapidly increasing. This shape is ideal for women who love a modern twist. The style and the taste of your loved one influence the choice of the diamond shape. Indeed, the shape says something about her personality. So try to find out what she loves and what she hates.
Pick the size
The size of the diamond is not the only thing that matters, but it does define the look of the engagement rings. The carat expresses the weight of a diamond. A big diamond is not always a high quality diamond. So you have to take the following into account: do you want to impress her with a big diamond or would you rather choose quality? The choice is yours.
Read more about quality
The quality of a diamond is defined by the 4 C’s: carat, clarity, colour and cut. The higher the quality, the nicer the look (brightness) of the diamond. We advise you to take this into account when choosing a diamond. Sometimes it’s better to choose multiple high quality diamonds than to go for one big lower quality diamond of the same carat weight.
